Artichoke Field

This is a year of firsts: first baseball game; first Shakespeare Santa Cruz; first visit to the new Asian Art Museum; first S.F. Opera to see Magic Flute and the first larger scale landscape.  I've worked mostly 18" x 24" since coming home from China.  I love being able to stretch my limbs, stretch my abilities on this expansive surface, to throw the paint around.  It feels physically good.  This is the Odello fields at the mouth of the Carmel River.  My father was the model for all three figures.
